F10 535 muffler delete concerns

Hey guys I'm looking to get a muffler delete on my 535 but couldn't find any answer on whether or not the drone is overbearing. Does anyone here have one and does it drone at low or highway speeds.

Whats overbearing for some could be nothing to you, Its all relative, my exhaust drones slightly to some people who ride with me its too much, others dont care. Its all relative.

Thanks that makes sense. Are there any alternatives to a muffler delete, on the relatively cheap side.

Honestly, I went with RPI was 1050 shipped, 200 for install. Best bang for buck, IMO muffler delete while cheap, there are better alternatives for a bit more money.

One of my friends had a muffler delete on his dodge charger and the drone is very recognizable and borderline annoying for me. I'm sure for bmw it wouldn't be that bad, but it has me worried.

I have a muffler delete on mine and to me it's not droney at all. Minimal drone when cruising on the freeway at a steady speed in 7th or 8th gear. Definetly noticeable if your aren't driving in sport or step tronic because the rpms tend to shift quick into a lower rpm when reaching higher gears . Like mentioned above, it all depends on the person. My brother who isn't a fan of loud cars especially drone, drives my car and is fine wth it. He just pops it into sport and drives off no complaints. Good luck!

Thanks for all the help guys. Does anyone here know if it would be harmful to the car over the years? This car was a graduation gift from my father and I plan on keeping it until it won't drive anymore.

Refinement as a grand touring vehicle is what this car is noted for.
Use the M5 as the benchmark.

Thus, as mentioned, don't cheap out and make this car loud, make it refined.
Spend the money and do it right. Its a hell of a car.

Agreed. Save money and buy a Remus or at least a Megan. BTW, I got a dinner and $100 for graduation and you get a '15 BMW...

Neighbor's kid just got a new mustang. Noticed he has no tips, and im thinking not muffler. Its loud. Really obnoxious. Of course, every time he takes off, he has to hit it. Sounds awful. I get it, I was young also. In college I Took my catatlytic converters off my 79' small block Camaro and ran a duel exhaust with some nice chrome tips. This in a time when the cars were choking from too many controls! The car sounded nice, a low growl with some performance enhancement!

Kudo's to your dad for giving you such a gift. Not everyone thinks its a great thing, and some are envious of you. Making it loud will draw more attention to your car and not all of it is good. My advice is to keep it refined and low key. Its just a car, not a lifestyle or a definition of who you are.

i'll echo what everyone else said, spend a few bucks and do it right. muffler delete may cause droning and may also not sound as good as an aftermarket exhaust. you can even find used m5 mufflers if you keep an eye out in the classifieds section.

I picked up a full m5 competition package exhaust (downpipes back) for 1200 + shipping, back in February.

alot of guys are returning their cars to stock so you may find a deal or 2 on the classifieds section.

I think this is the best reply yet. Would never had thought this applied to me until one of my friends got his entire car keyed from top to bottom the other day, because people thought he was too young to have that car. Thanks for that, and i decided to hold off on the exhaust, for a while at least.
