Bit of a random question, and hopefully not a stupid one!

I have a 2011 F10, without Xenons (such a disappointment but hey), but still obviously with the halo and projector lights etc. The lighting menu on the idrive system shows a selectable option for daylight running lights, which should operate when the headlight switch is in the off position or in auto. However, when selected, the halo's/DRL's are not lit up.

Is this jus because I don't have the factory Xenons? Or because they need extra coding, or is there an issue? They illuminate fine when the sidelights and headlights are on, just not as solely DRL's.

I hope that made sense! And any input is appreciated.
