You need a set of dedicated snows & wheels. Skinny 18 inchers is what you'd need for the snow.

WAIT!!!!! Yours doesn't see snow, does it?

We get "a bit" of snow too.

RWD is surprising capable actually, with good winter tires of course. And yes, given same tires AWD is better, no doubt.

Same here, many find it hard to believe but it's perfectly fine to drive everywhere.

I have Bridgestone Blizzaks mounted on a set of square 19" M351's. I actually sold my staggered set and bought a square set for winter use. I am running 245's all around and am able to rotate my tires front to back on alternating winters to get more mileage out of them. Plus for snow use, you really don't want too wide of a contact patch. For me this is a good compromise as most of the time it is just freezing temps, not actually snow covered roads. When it does snow, the roads get plowed and cleared relatively quickly in my area (NYC metro). I am 4 winters in on one set of winter tires (about 18K miles total) and probably have one season left before they need replacement. I bought my set used for $550. It is a great investment.

20 is overkill for winter tire that's actually going to be driven on snow, way too big and wide. Even OEM size is a bit wider than ideal for snow, size down is always recommended for less surface to slide on and cutting through somewhat deeper snow easier.

In general price for winter tires is same as any other tires you'd buy. Also since you're extending the life of your summer tire, the difference in cost is additional set of rims (and some "sweat equity" twice a year to swap them).

you dont want a staggered setup for your winters. especially not 20 inch rims. I paid $450 CAD for like new yokohama winter tires off the classified got such a good deal on them.

welcome to ontario! I am in toronto, have the same year car, same colour, just different engines

yes, I 100% agree with you. RWD and winter tires is perfectly safe, reasonable, and actually quite alot of fun when getting around in the snow. I have 225/55/r17 yokohama ice guards all around got a great deal on them. I like how these tires do it all well - smooth in the dry, good enough in the rain, at the expense of very deep snow traction - it simply does it all well which is important for a winter tire since it does not always snow here. the ig52c tires have these little slush siping patterns - ridiculously good through slushy roads so much grip for 225 width tires. It's alot of fun!

I really hope you washed your car and got some window tints after taking that picture

heres mine, except I have beige leather. love my colour combo!
