MHD OBD Flash Issue w/ 2011 F10 N55
I am able to successfully connect to and read my MEDV172 DME, but the MHD F-Series N55 App gives me an “unsupported DME” error message when I try to do the initial flash Stage 0.
Flash Unsupported DME, version # PC_HWEL SGBM 0257 v003_019_002 PC_BTLD SGBM 07D0 v003_019_005 PC_SWFF SGBM 07D5 v199_008_001 PC_SWFF SGBM 0AEA v199_008_006 Map: Stg0 HW:000007D5D10601 MHD knows my VIN and said that my (production date 07/10) 535i would work. I was able to buy the Flash License, but cannot do the initial Stage 0 Flash. I would appreciate advice from anyone knowledgeable about this subject. Thanks |

MHD replied: "172 cars are f10 or f25, we have a couple dozens of those in the beta programm. All use the same rom family (0d07). I noticed this week that there is another family of roms for some f10. Since this rom family files are not present in the current BMW oem database, and we have at least 10 f10 172 using 0d07, I thought that 07d5 was pre production or something like that. Looks like it's not. So we will have to port the tables and maps to this rom too." |

Been anxious about this since they announced it in December. Can't wait!

Dealer should be able to update the ECU software but it is usually $300 or so they will increase you to the latest I-STEP

Hi, I'm clearly new on this forum (first post).
But I just want to let you know I'm in the same boat with the MHD F-Series flasher. I've been working with MHD to figure out a solution. They say my ROM is not supported as it is an early F10 build (2010). Car is model year 2011 535i. They have the bootloader and program (0257 & 07D0) already. But, they need a copy of the calibration (0AEE), and probably 07D5. They said they can add support quickly, but only if they can get the files. The files should be in an "old" copy of psdzdata. Check the locations C:\Data and C:\Data\psdzdata for the following search *0AEE*. The "newer" psdzdata files do not include this one. If anybody has the file, send it to MHD. I'll keep looking around the web for it. This is my software: PC_HWEL SGBM 0257 v003_019_002 PC_BTLD SGBM 07D0 v003_019_008 PC_SWFF SGBM 07D5 v209_006_001 PC_SWFF SGBM 0AEE v209_006_002 |

It is true that my previous I-Step was from 2017, but still wasn't new enough. Last weekend, I had a local BMW specialist do a software update to the latest 2018 version. The dealer quoted $300 exactly as Kwood mentioned. These guys did it for $125. Update the DME, EGS, and DSC. After the update, the MHD app worked just fine. I loaded the tune and took it for a drive, and I couldn't be happier! It pulls much harder and doesn't taper off at the higher rpm like it used to. Shifting is significantly faster at WOT, nearly as quickly as my sportbike. Looking forward to the drag strip I recommend finding an independent shop that uses AutoLogic. They can provide the same software updates at a much lower price. Then, tune and enjoy!! |
