New owner - introduction

Hello everyone - Andy here from sunny Orlando, FL.

Just picked up a 2014 535i on Friday ... and promptly joined this forum!

So here are the details on the ride:
Euro spec/built. The car was built for a BMW executive who used it only when he travelled to USA. The car was sent back to Germany last year to "retrofit" and check for US emissions standards. I noticed that it had the ///M badging in the front quarter panel, typically have not seen this on other 5 series (correct me if I am wrong)

2014 and has 5300 miles when i picked it up. Yes ... 5300. I did get 6yr/100K mile CPO on it.

M Sport Package, HUD, paddle shifters, lane departure, easy access trunk, Self parking feature, HK audio, side view cameras, LED lighting package, heated front and rear seats (independent climate control for rear), heated steering.

Only thing that I am missing out of the car are the sports seats. It has the basic Dakota leather seating. Nothing fancy.

My next steps (and could use help and suggestions from experienced forum guru's)

1. Change interior trim to carbon fiber. I need to figure out where to buy quality trim

2. Black-out CF kidney grills. (I am not able to make up my mind if I want CF rear spoiler and CF mirror covers)

3. Change wheels to 20". Anyone willing to exchange/buy the 19" from me, I will let them go for relatively cheap. Tires are Pirelli 19x35x245 and 19x35x275

4. Upgrade chip and exhaust to get better sound and performance. I am leaning towards DINAN. This way I do not void the warranty (will do this step later)

Thanks all - looking forward to hearing from everyone!

Welcome to the club

1) You can get the real deal M-Performance CF trim here for the "best price around":
http://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...+interior+trim

2) CF Kidneys? Unless you plan on keeping it garaged, CF always fades out and looks like hell after about a year in the sun. I'd recommend going with gloss black OEM LCI M-Performance grills. If you must get CF, at least go have the parts clear coated before installing.

Here's an M-Performance CF spoiler FS:
http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1345417

And the CF Mirror Caps:
http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1335239

3) Already sold my original 19's, glad to get rid of them - practically gave them away, too Might have better luck on eBay

4) If you opt for DINAN, remember the parts/tune must be installed by a DINAN-authorized dealer or you won't have the warranty coverage you're seeking.

Congratulations.

I sure hope this was not a BMW training car. This going back to Germany and coming back to US doesn't make too much sense.

There would be very easy indications to see if it is indeed Euro Spec or has been converted.

-Post pictures of the side mirror glass, stereo controls and light switch as well as inside the tool box that is located in trunk lid.

So far, it appears to be a 100% US Spec car.

But you are right about the ///M badges. They are usually on Euro cars but could easily be installed on a US car.

Also, Euro spec car will have Amber flashing rear turn signals. Yours most likely will flash red.

Let us know.

Edit: Just looked at the pics of the car from dealer's ad.

It is 100% US spec car and it has a crazy early built date for a 2014 (3/2013) and further it is coded "991 Pre-series Management"

Most likely this was a press / test / training car for LCI.

To the best of my knowledge BMW executive program is only for one year that can be extended for another year.

I am glad it is a CPO car but I would of honestly stayed away from it.

Very nice looking gauge. I just got a 528i with Premium Pkg and now looking at your car I really wish mine had the same diffuser. Anyone knows a place that has replacement diffuser for 528i non-M? Thanks in advance!!

Yea I considered about that but I'm just afraid it's gonna look like shit after awhile since it's starting to rain a lot here in SoCal. I don't know if there's a rear diffuser for non-M F10. I have been searching but I guess there's nothing like that available in the market..

There isn't as the "diffuser" is molded into the rear bumper and isn't removable. It has to be cut out.
