Double sided tape for Carbon Fiber rear spoiler

I am thinking of purchasing the spoiler and putting it on myself.

It is often recommended to use adhesive such as:
BMW Betalink Body Panel Adhesive - Genuine BMW 82699408866
Part #: BMW-82699408866

I am more comfortable in using 2-sided tapes instead - seems less messy and easier to me.

Any recommendation?

Is this any good: 3M Scotch 06376 Automotive Attachment Tape?

Or am I better off seeking professional help for installation. Thanks.

Ive been using the 3M automotive double sided tape on a bunch of spoilers and they have been holding up pretty good. just make sure you have the whole perimiter covered.

I ended up getting some 3m tape at Lowe's that was about 1/2" wide cause the 1/4" wasn't holding well. I used it for my front spoiler and redid my trunk spoiler.

I used 3m scotch 30lb double sided tape to install my trunk spoiler and I'm able to easily remove it if it gets damaged of faded. If you use beta link your pretty much stuck with not being able to remove your spoiler if you need to. In case your wondering how to easily remove taped on parts, just get some wax dental floss and double it up, slip it under the part and use the dental flaus like saw and cut thru it. It won't scratch your paint and works Like a champ! I did it twice when putting on my spoiler, I have OCD it was off center like 1 millimeter the first 2 times!

Guys, any clarification of which kind of 3M Scotch Tape?
There are quite a few choices at Amazon.

3M Scotch 1/2-Inch by 36-Yard Double-Sided Foam Tape - it has "Urethane Foam"
3M 03614 Scotch-Mount 1/2" x 15' Molding Tape - "no foam"

I used the double sided tape on the OEM bmw front lip with no issues. Very strong and good idea to use.

I recently installed my CF rear Spoiler (M Performance) using 3M and for some reason using single tape are not enough to touch the surface of the trunk. I just took it off and put a 2nd layer of double tape which seems to be better but i haven't try to re-install it.

I don't like the idea of using Betalink since it will be permanent but if this is the only option then i would most likely go this route but will have the dealer to install it for me.

what happens if you remove a CF spoiler attached with betalink or epoxy?

will it completely damage the paintwork when you take it off?

Yes, I used Betalink to attach the spoiler to my old 530. The spoiler got damaged and I had to remove it, it came up with chunks of paint. I would never use Betalink or epoxy again. 3M automotive double sided tape is the way to go.

i only thought about going with Beta because i really wanted a tight flush fitment when i install my 3d carbon spoiler coming in but i heard once it's on...it's on! cause i know when i use the 3m double sided tape there is just a minor gap in between...i wonder if anyone has used some kind of filler like black silicon or something to fill that minor void?

i just got mine last week and its still only hovering in the 50s and 40s here well 7- 10 Celcius.
I put it on but want to re do it. i'm guessing i put it on too cold and the edges didn't stick as well. going to redo it.
I guess i should wait for it warm up for the 3m tape?

Just did some reading. looks like between 60 - 110 degrees for the surfaces. I guess we just have to wait few more weeks!! lol

I can wait...i think you think it's safe to use rubbing alcohol to clean just the area the spoiler will be mounted to? i know it's got wax among other surface stuff
