I think if you didn't care what cars looked like - you wouldn't have had to order that heavy old rubber spoiler! I think at that time I was running around in 2CVs. Same kind of thing - all about the handling/amusement factor (to the point where the rather odd looking car was so loved it became beautiful).

Here is a photo mid-way through my first job on the 5. Remove the 18" wheels and squeeze on some 17"s.

That was the XJ fan review only .
The XF club had been leasing the same meeting room late tonight before the guard comes.

Pottsy,

Are you trying to turn this into a gardening thread with some nice ornaments! A 5 with some 17"s!!!! I can only presume they are winter wheels and tyres.

As a further aside, I have some lovely 2CV memories of seeing them being almost horizontal when cornering at anything above 15mph. God knows what it must've been like inside driving it.

As a further, further aside, I do also have some excellent memories of tuning my MK 2 Escort, those damn tappets and them feeler guages were the things of legend. Wire brushes on those spark plugs and more feeler guages and a wee tap wi a hammer. God, how I miss those days.

More apologies! In fact no, I don't apologise whatsoever!

They are winter wheels, of course. But the massively reduced unsprung weight has given such an improvement I am considering getting some 17s for summer too.

And I quite like the whole anti-fashion angle. Oddly, the more I look at them, the more right they seem.

2CV was great inside, especially on the circuit.

I am afraid I am with C5 on this one too. XF is not a nice looking motor compared to the F10, that said, the F10 MUST be on a minimum of 19's to carry off the best look.
