Hello , newbie here.
I was looking around my sons trunk and noticed the top area bare meter and doesn’t have a liner. Is this normal, what is this area called? What part do I need to order?

Is your son's car an F10?
Assuming you mean bare metal...
Are you talking about the trunk lid? - This should have a lining on the inside of it.
Are you talking about the "ceiling" inside the trunk so the underneath of the rear parcel shelf? - This does not have a liner.

Are I talking by the battery or where the literal top is like ?^ top of u were inside it or top by the seats?

As far as I know it’s a 14 535xi m sport and yes bare metel , u can see the white paint . Like a panel should be there.

No the rear deck doesn’t have anything that covers it, its bare metal there.
