LCI 530d M Sport Touring
After over a week in an M5 following a problem with the Adaptive LED control unit I am back in my 530d.
Few observations: Good: HUD is fantastic Really like the soft close doors, comfort access ACC is really nice Ventilated seats - much more powerful/better cooling effect than the Mercs Like the improvements to iDrive touch, apart from video only being available via the phone snap in adaptor if you have TV. Quite, comfortable drive Unsure: Adaptive drive - need more time to play with this. Probably is better than the standard set up but probably just used to the M5?! Not convinced about: Comfort seats - can't get comfortable in them - thought the standard seats were better. Have backache all the time. Still trying to adjust Adaptive LEDs: Not that impressed with additional illumination when on main beam and following somebody or when car approaches - seems more gimmick to me Need to spend more time.....considering swapping for an M5 though! |

I rate Adaptive Drive as a top option, superb to have the optional modes on the roads I drive. I do feel your opinion will depend on the sort of roads you drive, what you what and expect from the chassis. HighlandPete |

I testdrove a car today with Comfort seats, they sure was a step back from PreLCI Comfort seats. No side support at all, the headrest didn't move forward, I was only able to tilt the sides in for some reason. Further the tilting of the seat was very bad, on my Sports Seats I can tilt them like 20-30 degrees to have support for the legs, while here it was like 5 degrees tilt.

I too felt the back ache the first 2 days. Then realised, I was setting the shoulder/top back adjustment too close to my body. I set the shoulder/top back adjustment to its farthest back position, and voila, it's now super comfortable.
Not sure if this will work for you, but just my 2 pence....

Yes, but why cant the headrest be adjusted forward? On my sports seats I can adjust them so I allways rest my head on it while driving.
If I remember correctly pre LCI comfort seats this was adjustable with just a button. |

Funny/strange that people percieve the seats differently. My back is very sensitive with car seats but I absolutelu adore the comfort seats. I had the sportseats in my 535i and they were very well but the comfortseats are IMHO so much better

Sjoerd: that is because you have the OLD seats, we are discussing the new models here, hence the LCI in the topic.
