Looks like a good spec to me, similar to mine and I'm happy with everything. Only thing on mine that I probably wouldn't bother with again is the rear view camera, which you've wisely not specced!

You could be brave and go cinnamon brown leather...

i would have liked to have the oyster / black leather but i have a 1 year old son so all black interior it was.
A friend of mine has the all round camera system on his 7 series and has come to the conclusion that it was a total waste of money as it does not really help to do anything at all.

You are correct there is a standard usb in the car but the one i have specified is the Telephone USB Audio Interface for £70.00 which iallows me to connect my iphone and have various options from the iphone show up on the idrive screen of the car. ie album covers.

Just be careful with insurance quotes when you have windows tinted. No added premium if factory option, but, a friend had £400 lumped on his premium after tinting.

Habits are hard to kick sometimes. thats why i didnt have soft close doors and the button on the boot that closes it because i know i will check that its all closed properly every time which i think somehow defeats the point of having them fitted in the first place.

If you're into music, maybe take one of the sound system upgrade options

I also like my reversing camera, does take a bit of getting used to. I wouldn't be with out my DAB, and Logic 7 speaker upgrade other than that spot on.

Hi there

520d se in Sophisto grey 2 - like mine - I like it
Black Dakota Leather - saw the kiddie comment so ok
Dynamic Package - good - which wheels?
Visibility Package - same - you have to turn on the auto headlight each dark journey tho'
Media Package - Bmw Professional Multimedia Plus
Sport Automatic Transmission - well done ;o)
Internet
Ambient Lighting
Ext Mirrors - Folding auto dimming - press and hold lock button to fold them in
Mobile application preparation
USB audio interface - good - but can only be set up for USB or bluetooth stream - so no flexibility to switch

I had active steering too - reduced turning circle often thanked..

Very expensive, I know, but the comfort seats are wonderful and worth it to me; they include an adjustable lumbar support, which prevents any stiffness in your back on long journeys.
I also love my DAB radio and, at £315, it'll make your car easier to sell if the government phases out analogue broadcasts as planned.

I'm with 'xenon' on the camera. I find the F10's rearward vision particularly bad and you should also bear in mind that, as you have the auto box, the days of opening the driver's door to see where you're reversing are long gone - as soon as you open the door the transmission defaults to park.

If I had an Auto box I would have bumped it by now! The beepers are great, but there are times when leaning out the door to inch it back is a must.

Granted that technology sometimes outsmarts itself, case in point highlighted by this particular aspect. However, for me the benefits of this amazing 8 speed auto far outweigh that single shortcoming.
The F10's reversing camera largely overcomes the issue of not being able to lean out of the door, but as I have discovered with the F12, 'surround view' takes it to another level entirely.
PS: re your post, how do you 'bump' an auto box?

Yes, bump the car not the box! Mind you, visibility is amazing vs the hire Touran I've got here in Spain. Cant see front or back from the drivers seat....

I have 3 young kids and have the oyster leather. I keep a pack of wet wipes in the boot which I wipe the leather down with from time to time and use straight away if they spill anything.

No problems whatsoever. No staining of any kind in 9 months and 18,000 miles.

I believe the lighter leather combined with the black dash looks great and makes the interior feel very spacious and more luxurious.

Personal opinion.
