Ordered 550xi M-Sport - Need Color Help
Hi all. I decided my E92 M3 wasn't cutting it as a daily here in DC with traffic, winter coming up, etc., so I decided to go a little bigger. I just ordered my 550xi with the M-Sport package. I can't wait. Given the M has few if any 'creature comforts' I decided to splurge a little bit - first by ordering the 550, and second I basically checked off every option box except rear seat entertainment.
The car is slated to begin production Week 4 of 2012, and according to my dealer, I should have it by mid to late February, depending on shipping, etc. At this point, I'm struggling to decide on colors. I still have some time to change my mind before the configuration is locked. I've settled on Black for the interior. I liked the Oyster, but something about it didn't seem right to me. I also wear a lot of denim, and didn't want to keep cleaning the seats constantly. I also ruled out Cinnamon, namely because the color is so muted and reminds me of a planter on my balcony. I've narrowed down my exterior choices to 3: Dark Graphite Metallic, Space Gray, and Alpine White. The M3 is AW, and I think it looks amazing. I haven't been able to see DG in person, so I'm flying blind. That said, I think it comes close to my previous sedan... Any one care to share their experiences with these colors? Keeping them clean, swirls, etc? My gut says go AW, but for some reason DG keeps drawing me in. Looking forward to contributing around here a lot more. I mod all of my cars, and the F10 will be no exception. |

All great choices, but Alpine White shows off the disctinct lines , and the black MSport rear diffuser and exterior trim pulls the concept together cleanly ......

I just heard from my CA that my car is due to enter production on Monday. If all goes well I should have it early February, if not even by the very end of this month. So excited now.

Mondays usually suck, but today is off to a great start! I woke up to a text from my CA telling me my car is now Status 155 - Production Complete! My 550xi was "born" today at 9:24am CET.
Now the wait becomes even harder! All that stands between me and my toy is the Atlantic Ocean. The Wallenius site hasn't updated with my VIN yet. I'm sure it will take a few days since it has to be transported to Bremerhaven for export.
