Huh. I had the same problem with belts in my '99 528 with grey staining the seat back, but I've never had jeans transfer color. I never could clean that stain off, but I never thought to use a wipe.

Then again, I don't wear jeans all that much.

I think the oyster is gorgeous and is well worth a bit of extra maintenance. I keep cars immaculate, even leased vehicles, so it's not going to be a problem for me. But then again I don't have the kids riding in the car very often and for some reason they don't wear jeans very often. And they know not to eat in my car.

Now I use Griot's interior cleaner, which is safe for leather, carpets, headliner, etc. and works marvelously. But you've got to get stains early; nothing is going to work miracles.

Me too, no kids, NO eating anytime, and I keep my cars immaculate too.
So Oyster all the way.

I suggest you not wear raw denim! My wife's car interior is a light grey and all her dark jeans rub off on the seats.

Me 2, in the driver seat, and i felt i made a bad choice (even though you barely could see it). However, i pulled out my leather cleaner and made a test on a small area, and it was good as new (1 spray, gently brush back and forth 2 times, and then wipe it off with a towel). Very easy.

..Still happy about my choice (oyster black). I plan to do a full leather clean once a year, and an additional front seat clean every half year.
However, I'm not sure what parts are leather and vinyl as the texture is the same, and i don't want to spend expensive leather cleaner on plastic!

Anyone knows?

I have it I just keep wet wipes in the car, but any leather except black will pick up blue jean dye... usually only raw denim, like the indigo blue denim, don't let you girls/wives/kids sit on the seat with those or your screwed. Just keep a few towels in the back for people with dark denim to sit on. So far the I keep wet wipes and some lexol on deck if I ever need it to wash the seats. I will see how it looks in a few months since the car is only 2 weeks old... My last car had corel red seats and the blue hue your speaking of was even slightly visible on the red.... black is the safest color...

p.s. the stains easily come off but dont let it sit for too long or let it build up over time, If you stay on it it will remain clean...

Just yesterday I went out for lunch, brought it back to my office. When I saw the bag, I realized that my burrito had leaked through the bag. So I ate it, then I walked back down to the parking lot and with just a wet rag (no cleaner) I got the stain off of the (Oyster) seat.

It's really not an issue maintaining this color as long as you clean up your mess in a reasonable time frame. Let it sit for days in the hot sun and you'll stain any color.

Easily stains ... But yiu cant beat the looks

My 528 with Oyster Grey is 2 weeks old, and my 4 year old son had already messed it a little. But some elbow grease does the job. but when you look at the car, the Oyster Grey is just fabulous with Sophistico Grey. Worth the pain.

7 months and 12,000 miles on Dakota Oyster seats, and they are just like new. Given 2 leather wipedown treatments.

No kids, and I wear khaki or black slacks. I don't wear jeans.
