Fitting a dash mount - removing stereo?

Hi all

In my last E92, I installed a Brodit holder for my phone, which was great as it was set up to just let my phone slide in, and charge from the cable going to the cigarette lighter.

Now with the F10, I have been plugging the phone in the armrest with the built in USB sockets that allows me to use the Apps like spotify. This works great although it is annoying to have to open the arm rest, plug it in etc every time i get in. If I had a snap in adapter it would be better but I don't have extended BT and even then a cradle doesn't exist for iPhone 6 yet.

My solution is to do what I did previously, get a bracket installed the car that I can mount my brodit bracket on so I can slide the phone in. I can then connect this to the USB and still retain all app access etc. Not as sleek as the snap in but not bad for me, although I know its not for everyone.

This is the F10 version of the bracket i had in the E92: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260742356722

It's good because you don't need to drill holes, it mounts with one of the existing screws behind the dash and is really solid. My question is that I need to know how to remove the stereo etc so that I can get to these screws, is it easy, is there a guide anywhere?

Also, is there an easy way to route a cable from the radio area, back to the armrest? I could do this fairly easily in the E92 but not sure in the F10
Thanks

I always have a Brodit mount in my cars too, as i use iphone tomtom which is much better for my needs than the idrive nav!

Here's how to take the fascia off, looks even easier the the F30!

Oh yeah it does look easy. The hardest part seems to be routing the cable back to the armrest.

There is another brodit plate which sits bit higher up. And you can fit that slightly left to display screen.

which one is that? I only saw the brodit that sits by the gear shift (i hate those type as the plastic always breaks), so I went for the scorpion one i linked to as its metal and solid. I didn't see another brodit one...

Edit: I know there is the vent one, but don't want that

Looks like there's just left side of ashtray, right side of ashtray & the vent one.

I have the vent one as it the highest and closest to me.
