How Did I Lose a Jacking Block?

Everyone

While working on installing mudflaps, I notice my right rear jack block was missing.

1) How do you lose something like this? do they fall off on a regular basis?

2) I found a replacement (below), how do you install them? Hammer them in? I haven't a clue?

Here's what I found that matches the other 3:

Mfg Part #
51717237195
ECS Part #
ES#1599379
Brand
Genuine BMW
Previous Revisions
51717123311

Any suggestions before I pull the trigger?

thanks

They fall out sometimes, or get stuck to a lift when in use, or road debris knocks them out, or a flatbed will removed them and use the hole they leave as a tiedown point.

They just snap in easily by hand.

The dealer may have knocked them off as only they have ever had it on a lift.

Guess I will order one and hammer it in.

Thanks

I actually lost mine yesterday after a car wash . Maybe that's where you lost it ? I drove back and they shut down the wash to look for the piece. Thankfully they found it

Garage List
2015 BMW X5  [10.00]
2013 BMW M5 [SOLD]  [10.00]
2013 BMW 535i [SOLD]  [10.00]
I took them all off after seeing how loose they were and I just keep them in the trunk in case I ever need them.

Just put the new one on last night. Quick bang of the fist and it was secure.

Thanks everyone for the help.
