I originally was shopping for something snow friendly and ended up with a RWD
I guess if you combine all 3 of my cars I have 6WD

Turn the car over on its back and press the gas pedal to see which wheels spin

NY here and I opted for RWD. I will take RWD + dedicated snow tires over X-Drive any day of the week!

We get "a bit" of snow too.
RWD is surprising capable actually, with good winter tires of course. And yes, given same tires AWD is better, no doubt. Quote:

In general price for winter tires is same as any other tires you'd buy. Also since you're extending the life of your summer tire, the difference in cost is additional set of rims (and some "sweat equity" twice a year to swap them). |

yes, I 100% agree with you. RWD and winter tires is perfectly safe, reasonable, and actually quite alot of fun when getting around in the snow. I have 225/55/r17 yokohama ice guards all around got a great deal on them. I like how these tires do it all well - smooth in the dry, good enough in the rain, at the expense of very deep snow traction - it simply does it all well which is important for a winter tire since it does not always snow here. the ig52c tires have these little slush siping patterns - ridiculously good through slushy roads so much grip for 225 width tires. It's alot of fun! I really hope you washed your car and got some window tints after taking that picture heres mine, except I have beige leather. love my colour combo! |
