Roll in Park?

Anyone notice their car roll back or front somewhat after engaging park? Just started noticing this for the first time this week.

This will probably just be the output shaft rotating around until the parking pawl engages. If it's slipping a lot, the pawl (or the notched park gear it engages) could be worn or damaged.

Won't happen if you put the parking brake on before you put the Tx in Park. A lot of people disagree, but most car manufacturers recommend using the Parking Brake whenever you park the car. Otherwise the full weight of the car always comes to rest against the parking pawl and can eventually result in fatigue failure.

Every automatic i've driven does this if its on any slant after you put the car in P and take your foot off your brake. This is why i make it a habit to engage the parking brake before i take my foot off the pedal.

Yup, me too, all cars. I usually apply the parking brake before going to park to keep, the stress off the pawl. Prolly no necessary but.......

I haven't noticed that to be out of the ordinary (versus other automatics I have owned)

HOWEVER, I have noticed one thing..

I come to a traffic light and the engine shuts down due to Auto Start/Stop, and when I lift my foot off the brake when the light turns green, the car quickly rolls back until the engine fires up again and gets going. Its almost like it was in neutral while stopped
