iPhone 5s Bluetooth issue
Is anyone else having issues pairing your iphone 5s? My F10 realizes that a device is trying to pair so it asks for the device code. However my iphone 5s and car cannot seem to pair. The car keeps saying there is an error and to retry. I tired for 30 minutes and couldn't figure it out. It's really frustrating because normally I am very good at these things. My car is a 2012 so I assume it has the most recent Bluetooth software.
I appreciate any help you can provide. |

My Car is also a 2012 but on checking via the iDrive it says that there is an update available. As the car has no signal at home I had to drive 10 miles to get some coverage. Tried to download via BMW teleservices - says it will take 9 mins - OK if gets to 89% and stops waiting another 5 mins in case it was going to continue. Repeated it again and stopped again at 89%. Tried with engine running and again stopped at 89% so having wasted over an hour decided to go home and try downloading to USB stick from www.bmw.com/update however as soon as you enter the 7th character of the last 7 digits of the VIN it says "The Vehicle Identification Number you entered is not correct. Please check your entry." It is most definitely correct - anyone else having this problem?
It worked last year when I managed to download an update Thanks - Jon |

I have been having problems with BT since I started with ios7 beta over two months ago. While I've been successful in connecting I have not had much luck keeping it connected.

I've upgraded both the car's bluetooth software and the iphone 5 to ios7, and it works like a charm.
Not much help there, but at least you'll know the combination is possible |

What did you do to resolve the issue? I am experiencing the same problem in my wife's X3. BMW and iOS software is up to date, but my 5S still won't pair. Phone recognizes the car and vice versa, but the phone does not generate a pass key to complete the pairing process. Thanks.

All set now😄. Possibly due to the iOS 7.0.3 update, but more likely because I was just doing it wrong from the start. As I mentioned in in my post, I was waiting for the iPhone to generate a passkey to enter into the car. I guess I had forgotten that it works the other way around 😳. Thanks for the replies.

Has anyone else noticed a problem with reading text messages via iDrive as a result of the iOS 7.0.3 update? I recently upgraded my iPhone 4S to a 5S, and have noticed the envelope icon no longer appears in the upper right corner of my nav display every time I get a new text message (nor does the message download via iDrive).
I re-paired the phone to the car over the weekend to see if it would help, but no luck. I guess we'll have to wait for BMW to come out it telecommunications software update UPD01007 to address the issue... |
