Would someone who owns an F10, or an F01/2 please be kind enough to say if there is a paper handbook included as well, or is it only available through I-Drive ?

You get both; info and video's in i-drive, and a proper book as well

Thank You Rich, so I guess that means there is scope for a PDF appearing at some point.

Presumably, BMW will post the Owner's Guide to their web site. They did for other models. So I'm guessing we'll see it eventually. They haven't posted yet in the U.S. anyway.

I've now found BMW USA have manuals for download at

http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Content/Owner/dgh.aspx

so hopefully the F10 will appear before too long.

In the mean time you can always enjoy the 5 GT manual that's on the web site as it shares a lot of technology with the F10.

None of my previous BMW's — and not the current one, either — has ever had a decent printed manual. You pretty much have to guess which parts of it actually apply to your car.
