woah wait, so they jailbroke the N63 ECU as well ?? I thought only S63TU and N63TU were the only ones that could get a flash tune.

Also what is the price, just to have an idea.

Figured. Maybe they figured out a way to make them work? Even though that's highly unlikely.

maybe not, explains why they werent in stock... he just said not to use K&N (which I agree), so maybe I will just be using stock with no carbon filters.

I was, I have to work 12s all week so I went home after a few hours. Looks like I have an early 2011 which doesnt have the tri core processor like the late 2011s and newer, so he has to flash it through the data port. Hes been trying to get everything ready to go before going back to norway but may have to do it when he returns. He gave me the car back and will be letting me know shortly.
For I guess 2011.5 and later, he can do them all. I wasnt in a huge hurry since my schedule wont permit me go back for a while anyway and Id rather be there for all the dyno stuff.

I will update when he calls me to go back

Call ESS for pricing, im not advertising nor do I have any affiliation with them so I dont want to be in the middle of anything. Im just here to report results of the tune when he finishes it... and possibly down pipes and turbos in the future!

Yikes, at least he gave you the car back before going to Norway.
I had a similar issue w/a tuner who left to Dubai (probably didn't) for tuning and had some other shop call me to tell me to come pick up my car, 4 weeks later .. lol

I personally gave ESS benefit of Doubt till I visited their website and saw a dyno graph that looked well, OFF.

http://www.esstuning.com/products/N6...ic-Tuner-.html

But anyways, I'm in the process of finding a n63 for Gintani to check out and do testing on. No promises though

Dynos dont tend to lie... and AJ is quite smart, so im going to stick with him until I get my results. Id also rather not turn my thread into some tuner war. You chose your guy, I chose mine.

I personally don't care who tunes your car.
I'm just telling you what I found.
And just FYI I was personally excited for you and the N63 guys, your thread sparked my interest.

Also, what I was referring to with that link wasn't just the dyno graph but also the product description, it says it gives the car 500 hp /550 tq
And in the graph it produced 574 hp and 622 tq.
Wanted to make sure you caught that.

And to me, its sketchy, to you maybe not.
Why would they advertise it at 500/550 and on the test car they got 574/622.

And:

Your saying "AJ knows his stuff" If AJ knows his stuff then he should know that there isn't a single company out there except for Private label: badblack's INC who makes filters for the 550i
As a matter of fact, when I saw your post I called ESS to buy this filter you spoke of, I called their Website business line, the guy who answered the phone said he was sick and at home and he will have to ask his tech about about this. He said he would call me back and let me know if it will fit, or wont. And I never heard back from him.

You took my comment as a tuner war, it was intended to try to help a fellow member out.
When I met with the tuner that was full of sh^t, he certainly made me feel like he knew his stuff too. And at the end of the day, I got nothing out of it except not having a car for 4 weeks waiting for this magic tune.
So I thought I was helping by sharing my experience because everything that has happened since this thread started has been strange. Including that phone call I made to order a filter that doesn't exists from a guy who seems to make you believe he knows his stuff.
With that being said, I wasn't trying to start any war. If you feel that way I apologize, it was only meant to help. I'll leave this thread permanently.

Cheers

I don't speak much in these forums but I read ALOT and I hope I don't try to speak for anyone when I say this but, I am an N63 guy and nothing in the world would make me happier then to get a true tune and maybe one day upgrade these turbos and see what this car is really capable of. The more of us that get together and accomplish the same goal the more success all of us have. I hope combatbmw doesn't leave this thread because his input is very valuable here as well as everyone else here. Please keep up the work guys and keep us all updated and if I can help us with my 550i I'd be more than happy. I tried contacting jailbreak tuning about a month ago and at the time things held us back but they're not very local to me, I'm the in the Detroit area.

Hater Im coming for your record... unfortunately its probably going to be in the 100s here next week so I will either have to suck it up and run in the heat, or save up for M5 or Dinan intercoolers. After it gets in the 100s, it wont be cool again until November

What tires were you on and how did the car launch?
