535 suspension - need help?
Gentlemen,
Maybe someone can chime in on this topic. I just dropped off my car at a local (reputable) shop to install OEM M5 wheels and H&R springs. The shop has indicated that unlike the 550, which has self leveling suspension, to get to the rear suspension, they have to remove the rear seats. This is a first for me and I just want to hear from any fellow 535 owners who've lowered their cars to see if this is accurate??? |

Thanks -- I've since read the same. I left a message for the shop to call me but it seems that they are gone for the day. They did mention that they would not charge me money for the additional labor and admittedly, they weren't aware that they had the additional steps. They've apparently done several 550s but no 535s. I will post results and pics - wish me luck

My 535 took three hours for Eibach install, alignment and test drive. Access to the rear struts is from under the rear speakers; you are correct. My technician's only complaint was that he was working blind because he could not look directly down into the area of the upper part of the rear struts. My work was done in San Diego at So Cal Suspension on Friday 11/30.

Well I got my car back this afternoon and as far as I can tell/see, the shop did an excellent job. Car is filthy dirty but I will wash and post pics. I went with some subtle mods (OEM M5 20"+H&R+Hamman front lip) but the car looks and drives great. I've always thought that the front end looks unfinished without front lip/spoiler, even though I have the Msport package. Thanks to everyone who chimed in!!
