Hartge Quad Tip Exhaust
I have been searching the net for info/videos on the Hartge 90 mm quad tip exhaust for F10 550i (replacement of rear silencers and tips only).
Does anyone have experience with Hartge exhausts, specifically, do you know how it sounds? I love the sound of the meisterschaft, but it isn't available locally here and i'd have to have it shipped in. I understand Hartge is a good company, but the sound is also important to me. Any thoughts are appreciated. |

BTW AC Schnitzer exhausts are made by Remus which means good quality Fitting instructions can be seen here (scroll down in the PDF file for English version): http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/ac...1812210515.pdf As you can see, the tips are slip on so if you don't like the AC Schnitzer tips you can use round 90mm/102mm or similar instead If you are looking for other ACS parts, TÜV documents, fitting instructions etc, here is a good place to see: http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/acs_kpl/ - Last edited by Boss330; 11-06-2013 at 02:55 AM.. |

Thank you for that observation and the additional sound clips. I'm leaning more towards the Schnitzer now, particularly since the tips can be changed. However, just to "tick the box" i'll take it up with the garage that offered the Hartge as well.

The Hartge system I've been offered is the one for the M5.
Here's a video, I'm guessing the tone of the system on a 550 will be "similar". [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_oeSGzczgg"] Last edited by Cairo Kid; 11-07-2013 at 12:56 AM.. Reason: Added video clip |

There are some that has put on a stock M5 exhaust on their 550i. That also sounds really good, and could possibly tell you how similar, or different, the Hartge M5 exhaust would sound on a 550i. Remember that the M5 has different diameter exhaust pipes than the 550i, so the Hartge exhaust needs to be modified to fit on the 550i. Here is two install threads of M5 exhaust on 550i, with sound clips: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=795339 http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=752054 - Last edited by Boss330; 11-07-2013 at 02:22 AM.. |

Unfortunately I don't, but since AC Schnitzer exhausts are made by remus I would think that they use the same diameter. You could possibly contact AC Schnitzer or Remus?
