Best paint for calipers?
Hello everyone
I'm planning to paint my calipers and looking for the best paint product. For those who did it, what paint did you use? I've heard VHT is pretty good but the price is just $10 and I'm a bit skeptical about the paint quality. Also, did anyone asked local BMW store to do it? I wonder if they have the same paint that is used on M5 calipers... Thanks in advance

Hey Russkey,
I used the Por-15 Caliper Paint Kit: http://www.por15.com/CALIPER-PAINTIN...oductinfo/CKB/ Very easy and straightforward to use. The finished product surpassed my expectations. I completed the job about 4 months ago and it still looks like new. I have no complaints about the product, application process or outcome. They also offer a variety of colors to choose from. Let me know if you have any questions. I'm confident you won't be disappointed.

Everyone has different ways to paint them. You can't go wrong with any.
I like to spray paint so I went with VHT. After 2 months. It's still looks new. |

G2. When it dries, it feels like hard rubber. Very durable. Less masking compared to VHT spray paint, since G2 is brush on. Last thing you want is paint oversprays, it's a b*tch to remove.

I painted mine a month ago using VHT paint. Sprayed on 3 coats and still looks fresh from day one. I'm still very impressed with it retaining its gloss.
The reason why I didn't go with G2 is because you only have so much time to paint it on as you have to add the reactor. I like to take my time when working on my car as I'm very meticulous. Also have to take consideration, its a one time job IMO. Good luck on your decision. |
