Suggestions for Wheels for 550i

Getting my Dinan springs and shockware software installed next week on my 2012 550i xdrive. Been looking at all the great pictures of cars on this forum and trying to determine what I want to do for wheels. The previous owner had 18" Black Niche Targa wheels on Carbon Black when he traded it in and I am just not feeling it. I have seen the Niche Targe in 20" silver and it looks better, but at that point, I could also go with VMR V710 20" staggered 9F/10R from 1010 tires or **********s. I really like the stock M5 343M in 20", they just look so good on a 5 series.

Looking for input from all the great members here, don't want to look like I am trying to build an M5 out of a 550i, but do like that 343M style. Looking for input because I am having such a problem deciding. Thanks for your feedback.

"don't want to look like I am trying to build an M5 out of a 550i" is why I did not go down the 343 style wheel route (though I love the wheels). Vertini makes a VS forged line of wheels that are fairly reasonably priced for forged wheels. I've ordered the VS01's and I know a guy with a MB E500 that's ordered the VS06's. They also have a mesh style in the VS02. I looked at the VMR's but to be honest, a LOT of people have that wheel and I wanted something different.

I'm also considering the Dinan springs and shockware so I'm looking forward to hearing what you think about it.

Good luck with your decision, I know how tough it is!

I'm running vorseiner vff 102 in staggered fitment on my car. happy with the build quality and looks of them, and i got them int he machined finish, so they hide brake dust easily

I have a 2014 550i lowered 1" on ACS Springs.

Here's a pic...

Looks great, I have been looking at 6 spoke wheels as well for a more sporty look as well.

Love my forge star f14s Super deep concave. Had em black and now they're sprayed gold. I'm on stock suspension. With a mild drop like yours, they will look even more flush.

What are they taxing on the dinan suspension software?

Dinan suggests they quote 9 hours of labor but they told me they will only charge me what it actually takes. I drop the car off on Tuesday so should be able to post the final bill and a couple pics of the drop before and after. Will also give my immediate feedback on the difference as I hope, as Dinan told me, this sorts out the dive and squat under braking and acceleration.

I got the flow formed HRE quoted and though it is a lot cheaper than the forged options, still pretty pricey considering other options out there. I looked at the Niche Targa in machined silver and gray but I keep coming back to the VMR V710.

I know it has been done before but the VMR V710 just look really good, and I can get 20" with 9" front / 10" rear off 1010 tires with Continental DWS. Been trying to decide between the gunmetal and hyper silver, here are pics of the niche targe and VMR V710 optional finishes. Any thoughts?

those are good options. i would try to get a hold of GetYourWheels.com and check out what they have as they offer their Bespoke program on a lot of their wheels. you decide the color and finish of your wheels.

If you want to go the OEM route, but don't want to get M5 wheels, check out the style 303M's. Great design and I've heard they fit the F10 very well, no need for spacers.

I currently have them on my car, but will be getting rid of them. If you're interested, let me know, ill throw the tires with them

I don't think those gunmetal wheels are Niche Targa's. They look like Verde Axis or a more expensive iteration of it. I've always loved that split-5 look, i.e. Vorsteiner VFF-103. I'm rocking red Forgestars and am happy with them.

You are right about the Niche second pic, figured that out after I posted it but didn't know how to un-post it.

After seeing this picture with silver wheels below (I know they aren't VMR), I'm pretty dead set on VMR V710 in hypersilver 20 x 9, square setup, with Continental DWS 06 in 245/35-20. VMR is telling me offset is 35 all around, does that sound right? Offset is the one thing that I know can get all screwed up if you don't get it right.

Et35 will fit perfect. If anything you can always put a 5mm spacer in the rear. Post pics once they're on.

If you're not lowered ET35 is fine. If you're lowered, you can fit closer to ET25.

You should also check out curva c300 wheels. Same design, lower price.

I did come across those wheels in my searches and not a fan of the stepped center. Like the smooth concave on the VMR V710.

Thanks for the feedback, will get them ordered on Tuesday. VMR said they should be delivered in a week as everything was in stock. Will post pics with the new stance and wheels then.

Everyone have a great holiday weekend!
