Any new updates to the pulling to the right issue?

The other post was so long so i decided to start a new one. Has anyone brought there car into bmw to have the issue fixed? Also is it fixed now? My car still pulls but very slightly, i can live with it tho. I always gotta tilt my steering wheel a little bit to the left while driving. Please post your updates. Thank you

I am still waiting for response from my dealer. They created a PUMA case for it a few weeks ago but this far I didn't get any feedback from them.

After changing tyres ( sommer to winter tyres ) the steering has been improved, but it is still not perfect.
It is too soft in the middle, especially when I am driving on rough roads it is hard to keep my car in straight line...

I will post an update here after I get more info from the dealer!

Sounds like an isolated incident.

If one or a few has the issue, don't mean they all do.

I am sure they will figure it out. Sounds like a defective part(s) on your car.

The steering (electric, 535i) is extremely sensitive to road crown. In the city, sometimes I get a strong right pull (mostly on newer, more slanted roads - for drainage, I assume) to almost no pull at all on some older, flatter roads. Hence I've decided not to raise red flags about this with the dealer. It just varies way too much from road to road so it'd be a dubious claim if I took it in. I could show the dealer one road with pull, and on our way back via different road the pull might be gone.

Could it just be, that the F10 is very sensitive to road conditions, perhaps in dependence of the tire size (or type) used? Perphaps this could be really a design issue of this new car.

On the 23. we got ours deliverd I really hope it is no issue...

That's what I personally believe - just the design of the car.

Not to hijack the thread, I may follow up via PM Jochen, but a quick intro quesiton: do you happen to know German (since you live there? don't flame me guys, he could be an American stationed there ) - if so, I wonder if you read some German F10 forums and whether guys there also complain about the throttle delay from standstill and pull to the right, or it's only us here in the North America. Can you shed some light?

Yes I am German, but not active in German BMW communities. So I can not say at the moment anything regaring the issues you mentioned.

But I checked "BMW-Treff.de" and "motor-talk.de" some of the larger forum communities here in Germany. I searched in the F10 area one year in the past and found nothing regarding throttle delay but some threads regarding the "pulling to the right" issue (solved by brake change front axis, software update, new tires etc.)...

Hmm... That's interesting - nothing about the delay... I wish I didn't sleep in my German classes so I could lurk around those forums. Google translate to the rescue LOL.

In 2009 I purhased a new Mercedes Benz E350 and it had the same issue. I dropped it off with the dealer a few times to get a different opinion and all 3 times the service advisor told me it's a safety feature. The SA said even their 100k cars has this feature I told them I'm not comfortable with it and think this feature stinks.

Lost money and sold the car = problem solved

I hope BMW has a fix for your issue

Do you get the same pull on all roads?

Mine varies a lot with road crown. Some roads get no pull, some a heavy one. I am waiting on a new set of winter nonRFTs. Some folks say their pull stopped with nonRFTs!

My 2011 535i was fixed with software update, replace right control arm and rotate struts, I believe, 1/4 turn then re-align. It took 3 trips to the dealer. Perfect now.

Wow, really? How bad was your pull (did you have to hold the wheel real hard) and was it the same strength on ALL roads? Trying to figure out if all of us have (had) a similar one as some guys reported a stronger one than others.

That's weird as most of the F10 X-drive owners with hydraulic steering don't seem to report it. Mostly us with the RWD electric one. Damn, I am totally confused now... I assume your steering is also hydraulic, is it not?

Got an update....

I've replaced the stock 18" GY wheels with stock RFTs to my new Blizzak winter set.

THE PULL IS COMPLETELY GONE.
