[VIDEOS]INSTALLED - Just ordered 397$ catless downpipes

Will keep you all updated, but I just ordered them so I’ll keep u all updated

http://www.armmotorsports.com/BMW-F1...-tu-dp-550.htm

Ordered on November 9 at 12:00 PM MST~
Shipped out on November 10 at 1:40 PM MST~
Delivered on within 3-4 days cant remember

Update:
Jacob over at ARM called me up and told me that these are slip ons, so they won’t fit early ‘11 550i’s, however, he did make up a suggestion saying “All that is required is to cut off the slip-on style flange and add the oem style flange.” so I’ll still be putting these on, however, the installation process will just be a bit different

UPDATE:
They’re in! The sound is INSANE and whistles are definitely there. Honestly, for some of you, it might be too loud, but if you want a roaring v8, then these are pretty good for the price.

Install took about 5-6 hours, including cutting and welding to fit early 2011 version

Install wasn’t too bad. Hardest part honestly was getting them to fit after cutting and welding

Video later tonight

VIDEOS:

Downpipes:

I am straight piped with an x. Looking to get rid of the x and just go completely straight very soon.

You will throw a CEL for sure. No way around out. Which is a deal breaker for me. Get something to clear the warning or put black tape over the light! I just ordered their intake so I'm pretty excited for more engine noise!

Let us know the cost for getting them installed! I'm hunting for a pair of used m5 cats.

I've seen some suggestions that you can install a high flow universal cat after the DPs. You would still have a CEL, I think.

If I install DPs I'm going to flash/tune it anyway (no gains without tune IMHO) and that will hopefully take care of CEL.
Installing a high-flow universal cats after DPs is an interesting idea, BUT will it catch smell? I'm not so sure
Anyone has any experience or links about it?

You will get a CEL, if you do a search people have tried everything. The only way of removing the CEL is with an o2 sim or by tuning (JB4 or Flash).. buy a cheap obd 2 scanner on eBay if you don't have either and clear the code.

Well, on the mechanic side, 0$ if you’re using oem flanges (if you’re cutting and welding rather than slipping on)

But if you’re paying a mechanic they prob wouldn’t take less than $500 to cut and weld and install. I paid cheaper than that, but every other mechanic tried charging me $500

Had my buddy do it who is certified as well for a lot cheaper

If you were to just pay a shop to slip them on, it’d prob be like 100-250$ Or just do it yourself

Honestly never heard of it or tried it. Had a 370z before this and never had the need to do any of that to eliminate a light. I’d just delete the code
