Just wanted to say 'HI and thanks'
I ordered a 535 xdrive 2 weeks ago (yes, the wait is killing me!) and have been reading these forums religiously since. The information here is fantastic as is the camraderie (for the most part). Hopefully I will be able to contribute in the future but for now, I just wanted to say "Hi".
I bought Space Gray with Cinnamon Premium 1 and Premium 2 Cold Weather HUD M Sport package I'll also buy the wheel protection package thanks to you guys. |

Thanks. Oh, a little more info from me:
I drive around 20,000 miles per year and a long time ago I decided that all I cared about was comfort. I had an A6 (best car of the list for the money), an S Class, 3 Cadillacs and my last 2 cars have been Lexus - a GS 300, which I didn't like too much and my current ES 350 which has been very nice, zero troubles. So, I decided to get a new car a few months ago and decided to get the Lexus LS. I spent a few weeks haggling with dealers online until I got the price to where I wanted it to be (amazing how much they were willing to come down in price) and I went to test drive it. I assumed since I had the mid range ES and liked it I would LOVE the $74,000 LS. I didn't. It wasn't that comfortable (I'm 6'4", 230lbs) and it was a really boring car to drive. Tons of power but boring. On my way home, I stopped in at a BMW dealership, met the Sales Manager who talked me out of a 740 and into test driving the 535 xdrive. He just handed me the key and said "I'll see you when you get back". I was freaking sold 2 minutes into my 30 minute drive, LOL! I looked in the rearview after smoothly taking a highway entrance ramp at 60 mph and saw a huge grin on my face. It was the first time I had enjoyed driving in 15 years. I spent more time picking out colors and options on this car than I have spent buying all of the other cars I have owned combined. I'm like a little kid waiting for it to arrive. I'm sure I'll even break down and track the ship across the Atlantic, LOL! Cheers! |

Smedley - nice post, bet you can't wait I was just as bad. Now just enjoying every minute of a great car, hope you do too.....
Highfive - I thought long and hard over space grey verses carbon black and eventually stuck with my first choice of carbon black. So glad I did, it's awesome, two colours in one. However, if you don't like washing your car weekly go for space grey, it hides the dirt well. Polished my car yesterday, looked amazing when i'd finshed, today was the first day i had taken it to work and everyone commented on the colour, but after driving it 50miles to work and back today and it looks dirty again..... |
