LOL...well most times it is as the winds generally come from North to South (left to right in the pictures orientation). I am at Al Asad that is like a old quarry area...there are actually a lot of picture opportunities...but i feel kinda weird with Security forces driving even though there isn't really anything classified around many areas...

Quarries make potentially good backdrops in photos. So what do you do there in your "office"?

Satellite Earth Terminal Service Engineer...we provide the O&M for 3 ku-band satellite terminals for the military (3 at this site...many more all over the world). Trust me sounds more important, exciting than it really is

pr0n? What is this strange word Nah I try to leave that stuff alone...LOL A good 90% of the time we are in monitor and react mode (so yes that can entail a lot of websurfing and boredom). The other 10% is some balls to the wall stuff...and these last 4 weeks or so have been that 10% LOL...

Like my stint in the OpCenter at the here university. Hours upon hours of boredom while monitoring network traffic and then a border router would go down and take out the network and the place would be hopping for an hour or so. Alarms going off, managers and directors running around like loonies, lots of after-action writeups and so on.

Of course we didn't have to worry about suicide bombers or random mortar shells, so there's a couple magnitudes of difference when it comes to personal security.

Nice shot of the falls, SV. Might want to level it out a smidge if you have some PP software.

And I could have thrown one at you on the way up. 2 Birds, 2 Stones (or something like that)

You hit it on the nail man. That is typical in the communications/IT world...because we live by the adage: "If it aint broke don't fix it". We get paid basically to react to a problem most of the time.

you should just know, if she's not interested. Move onto the next, don't waste your time chasing something that won't happen. I wasted my youth (I'm not that old yet, but i know where i missed out big time!!!)

also remember, at 15, your any girlfriend you have for a while, isn't going to be the one you marry, so don't worry about it. If that's the way you think, you'll just end up heart broken after a year. So enjoy life, take lots of pictures, and tell all the girls you drive a BMW, and it's in the shops so you can't take her for a ride just yet.

+1 What I say to myself everyday. But I do have a BMW, its in the garage, just need to get my permit. Been procrastinating :P

EDIT: Nice shot of the falls, really lovely. May I ask, did you use a speedlite or a strobe to get the water to "light" up?

I take it you've never been there. You really should go. It's something to see.

the falls are lit by massive lights on the canadian side of the river.
