A desktop helps with processing photos. Don't know if it is the same frame as before but looks a bit better.
Not the same image as the other thread, this has a satellite in it.

Nice detail and saturation in the Milky Way. Was this another 17mm / 30 s exposure (or did you expose for longer to bring out the starfield)?

17mm F4.5 68 secs and ISO of 800
PP on a desktop helps, the laptop I use is a XP ( I use it for internet only) the longest I used was ~80 secs but by then the moon was up and I got poop.

Your results are certainly good enough that you don't need my advice anymore, but I think you could get away with higher ISOs to shorten the exposure and reduce trailing. While you'll certainly have noise at ISO 1600-3200 it can clean up pretty well in post, while star trails are harder to get rid of.

Another thing you can play with if you just have a sky image with no ground background is stacking a bunch of relatively short high ISO exposures to reduce noise. Each shot will rotate a bit from the previous one just like a star trail, but the individual shots can be free from trails. For instance, you could go to a very high ISO like 6400 and shoot 16 shots in a row each for 10-15 seconds. A stacking program will overlay the exposures and take out the interframe rotation (and, hopefully, much of the noise).

1: I need all the help I can get and your advice while I was there helped.
2: I fear photoshop and would have to pass the stacking on to my son. I know the same works for stacking focus to get incredible dof.
3: ISO noise, hopefully a different camera body would help with that.

I tried to get these in before the Mrs came out with the drinks...needless, I didn't make it and got an earful. So enjoy, cause this cups not the only one that took heat.

Thanks...

Pouring actual fire...from a blue flame tiki torch. Got the idea when I went to light it off another torch and the flames poured to the ground. I just grabbed the first cup I saw on the bar and poured it in while the camera was shooting.

So even through it says Crown, I wouldn't drink it unless you want to go blind.
