Gloss Black Roof Wrap F10
Ok so, I had some experience on vinyl wrap before. To me, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to wrap the entire roof. Why does everyone charge so high? I've been asking around to do my f10 and they all quoted me $180 - $280! Seriously? To me is doesn't make any sense, vinyl cost arount $20 -50 most. It probably take about 20-40min max to do the job then why do people overcharging it?
I guess I have to put my hand to work and quit being lazy If any of you guys live in DFW area here in TX, I can do it less than most of people charge you. I got all the tools, and matriculates hand, NO I don't do shitty job Shoot me a PM and I'll take care you.

I'm not sure if you've ever worked with vinyl (especially gloss black) before but I do suggest you give it a try.

I have work with all kind of vinyl, the hardest is those imitation carbon fiber vinyl, they're too thick to be curve in tight place. Here's a few picture of my JDM ITR I did while back when i was younger and into import scene.

I have worked with some minor vinyl jobs on some previous vehicles. However I am by no means an expert and by no means equipped to do a full roof wrap. I got my F10 done at a shop and the job took roughly 2 hours for 2 guys to complete (this did include side rails and antenna fin). Still, to do the job RIGHT, it is a couple hours labor so I think anything in the low $200 range for just the roof is reasonable

I've never wrap a complete car before, but vinyl is flexible with heat gun so it's easy to bend and curve where is suppose to be. I think if is over $200 that's a rip off. I've seen people get charge for $3K for a full wrap, to me that's not worth it.

Looking at your Integra, it doesn't appear that you had to do any single large surfaces such as a roof. I've seen so called professionals' work that looked questionable so no way would I expect an amateur to do a clean roof job. Either way, good luck either tackling it yourself or finding someone to do it under $200...be sure to post pics.

I own a shop and vinyl wraps is part of what we do, I charge 400. 200 is cheap IMO. You need to use the proper 1080 vinyl to get good results. You need 3 yards to be safe ($90 cost). Then you need to set aside 2 good vinyl guys to the job, max 2 hours to be safe. A good vinyl guy gets paid well, there's another $80 (cost). Comes out to 170 cost. Like any working person you need to make money off your labor and money on the materials. I have a 30,000 sqft building with roughly 40 employees, not sure about you but I'm in business to make money. If I have to explain to you how margins and profit work that is another post all together.
I guess if you feel ppl should work for free that's your prerogative. You should try it yourself, chance are it'll come out mediocre at best and you will be another guy out there with a crappy rough wrap because you cheaped out. Not trying to start something here just defending the vinyl guys who should get paid for their work. |
