Removing M Sport Rear Deck Spoiler

I just ordered a f10 msport 550 xdrive and was wondering if anyone considered/had any luck with removing the rear deck spoiler. Love the vehicle but that piece is not my cup of tea.

Thx GGPlena my question was more along the lines of whether it can be done without damaging the paintwork.

Jettie1767 I'd be happy to sell it if I can get it off. Dark Graphite.

unfortunately the answer is "it depends"

Some people heat up that part to make it easier to come off, and when it does come off, the paint is flawless. On the other hand, some people do the same and find their paint to be scratched.

So... it depends on luck than anything else

I am told that its applied with adhesives, I would think removal without paint damage would be difficult and should be attempted by BMW.

Is it possible to post a picture of your spoiler?

Fishing line will remove it without any problem. After you remove the remaining adhesive just buff it out and polish.

Yes, adhesives. I had mine added and BMW recommended 2 days to let the glue set properly

I am with you in theory. I also think debadging works fine for this but to take a spoiler off, I would need about 2 to 28 beers first. I really would love to see this spoiler, is it that bad?

I am thinking sort of like this? http://thethrottle.com/2010/08/16/so...r-spoilers-15/
