Best Recommendations for Run Flat Tires

My E91 came w/ some 16" BStone Driveguards and I am pleasantly surprised at how neutral they are. I was really expecting some terrible riding tires, but they're... fine. Relatively quiet, decent dry grip (poor wet), quiet. I was really expecting them to be awful feeling, but maybe because they are 16s and the taller sidewall, but they're just fine for a daily driver.

I'm still wondering about the real purpose of runflats. I had them on my first 1-series. On the way to work one morning, I whacked a metal plate (the thick kind they use to cover big holes in construction zones) the wrong way and the tire immediately punctured, but was still drivable. My destination was about a quarter mile away. I checked the tire about an hour later and it was truly flat, so I called a nearby tire shop and they hauled it and replaced the tire. It was not repairable. Was just as expensive (if not more so) as a very good conventional Michelin.

Since then, I've only bought conventional tires (they really do perform better) and keep a AAA card, a tire repair kit and a compressor / battery jumper in the car, just in case AAA is out of range.

I go out of my way and go the hassle of carrying a spare for just this reason!
