decision making

hi guys, i have to decide between a 2013 528mpack, or a 2010 535i stock at the same price, both are the same exterior and interior colour.

i am currently driving the 2008 530i mpack.

it is a hard decision, any comment?

thanks..

I think I'd look at the 2013 528 M Sport car. Here are my reasons:

1. If you're happy with the power/output of your current 2008 530, I suspect the 528 would be comparable - maybe even better. It's a 4 cylinder turbo, so I think it loses a bit of the refined feel of an inline 6, but it certainly delivers on punch. If I'm not mistaken, it puts out about 240hp, which is sufficient for most daily driving.

2. It's 3 model years newer than the 2010. That means you'll have warranty left on the car, which should save you some money if anything goes wrong.

3. The M Sport package is a nice look - I'm biased there. I think it really finishes the look of a 5 series.

4. You should get better gas mileage, if that's important to you, with the 528.

The only tangible benefit of the 535i would be the bigger engine. While nice, and I love having extra power, in this case I'm not sure it warrants everything you'd be giving up with a much newer car, warranty coverage, M Sport, and mileage.

yeah, thats what i am thinking too, cause this is only my daily drive car, not my toys, and i guess it is a turbo engine, so mapping it would be easy and gain lots of hp.

If you have something else fun on the side, then even more so I'd recommend the 528 - just makes more sense.

Best of luck with it - and be sure to post some pics when you get it!

Out of curiosity, how are the prices in HK? I know they're exceptionally high in many parts of Asia.
