Msport Steering Wheel Thickness

Would like to get some thoughts on folks that have msport steering wheel. I recall when I picked up the car, the steering wheel had some thickness to it and felt "cushioning". I sometimes clean it with Lexol leather cleaner (from dirty hands).

Lately, noticed that the thickness is not as thick before. Is it because of oily hands, or the cushion is flattening? Anyone else experience this? just curious.

I suspect this may just be psychological. Things always feels special when they are new and then you get used to it.

+1, I doubt the wheel would "shrink"

Wish it would - I find the rim too fat and really miss the wheel in my old E92, not only was it just the right thickness for me, but it was covered in perforated leather, which provided much better grip and feel.

Go grab a hold of a non sport steering wheel and you will appreciate yours once again.

That's real old school

Things appearing thinner (or shorter) than they previously seemed is common psychological artifact, not limited to steering wheels

That's exactly what I did - I've had three test drives of an SE F12 and I much prefer the thinner wheel.

I had a loaner e60 with a regular steering wheel for a couple days. The joy when I got into my beloved M sport F10 again!

Different folk, different tastes. Personally the F10 M sport wheel is the best steering wheel I've encountered so far.

That's because the quality and design of the cabin of the F10 is way better then the E60. The interior of the E60 is ok, but the F10 feels more like a luxury car.

Also I don't have sport steering wheel on my previous E60 but I've got the peddle shifter plus the sport steering wheel and that's day and night.

But I agree different folks have different taste.

Maybe if you soaked It with a lot leather cleaner you may have saturated some of the foam below causing slight deformity. Also if you have lost a lot of weight the wheel may feel different in your thinner fingers. Lol.
