Startup Driving Mode 2012 535i M-Sport
I have my first BMW and just loving it so far. I find myself playing around with the different drive mode settings Sport, Comfort, Eco and so on. However it always seems to revert back to Comfort or Comfort+ no matter what setting I was using when I turned the car off. Is there a way to keep the last mode before the car was turned off?

Nope, that's the way it works in U.S. cars. It will start in Comfort or Comfort+, that is it. Maybe Eco Pro, but I don't have that on my car, so I dunno.

Ditto. I get startup in Comfort or Comfort+, but if I turn it off in Sport or Sport+ it reverts to Comfort.
I only use Eco on long highway trips since I can't stand the auto-off feature which can't be disabled in Eco. |

I am testing the ECO for a week on this tank of gas to measure mpg, however, i find it very annoying. The tranny shift at about 1500 rpm making it very sluggish to drive. Of course you can override this laziness using kick down, but then you have to deal with all the driving tips like, take foot off gas, slow down, etc etc LOL!

I thought I saw this asked somewhere but couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Is there a difference between using the paddle shifters vs moving the center shifter to the left and changing the gears there? |
