Non RFT
I have a F10 535D and was also thinking of changing all 4 to non RFT's
BMW told me it would invalidate my warranty if I did that (the car is 2 years in Aug). Is this true? Also, if I changed to non RFT's do I still use the same tyre pressures? Thanks |

Tyre pressures should be the same. |

Warranty is unlikely to be an issue unless the tyres you fitted weren't suitable for the vehicle and you were claiming for something wheel related. Insurance is a bit trickier. They could only reasonably deny a claim if the non-RFT contributed to the claim. Having a blowout and losing control would be such a scenario and if you hadn't told them you could be in a bad place.

I'm running non-RFTs on a 2015 535d just like yours. I told my insurer and they were fine about it (Direct Line). I made sure the size was the same as factory, and speed and load rating were at least as good. As for pressures, I've found the ones on the sticker on the car are about right and I've kept to them.
It can't invalidate warranty. BMW sold the F10 535d with non-RFTs in many parts of Europe as standard, certainly on 17s and 18s, not sure about 19s. G30 model is available in the UK with non-RFT 17s and 18s.... What are you running at the moment ? 18s, 19s ? Staggered ? I'm on 18s non-staggered and have found Rainsport 3's to be really good, as well as being cheaper than most premium brands. They replaced Primacy 3's and I haven't noticed any loss of comfort or performance. Wear will probably be higher though. |

At the moment, I've got the factory fitted RFT 19" mixed tyres, Bridgestone Turanza.
Fronts are 245/40/19 and Rear 275/35/19. My only other concern with switching to non RFT tyres, would this impact handling since the car has VDC so not sure if the suspension will act differently if I put in non RFT's due to the weight differences in the tyres? I'm guessing that the suspension isn't really tuned to work ideally with RFT's so putting in non RFT's on the car with VDC shouldn't really make a difference? |

I have adaptive drive (VDC plus active anti roll) and it's not been a problem.
Just looked: wow, those 275/35 19's are expensive, even in non-RFT ! |

I've just replaced my tyres and had 4 x 19" staggered Michelin Primacy 3 ZP (Runflat) fitted to my M Sport, and they are brilliant, and cost just short of £800 delivered, which I thought was a reasonable price. The OE tyres were 19" Bridgestone RFTs and they were horrible, it felt like I had wooden cart wheels on and there was quite a lot of vibration above 70mph, I was dreading taking the 18" Pirelli winters off because they were so much more comfortable, even though the handling was a bit squidgy. The new Michelins however are a revelation, comfort is on a par the 18" winters, which I'm very happy about, and handling / directional stability are spot on. For anyone looking for new RFT tyres I can highly recommend Michelin Primacy 3 ZP |

I'm looking at a new set of tyres now, currently have run flat Dunlops from factory, do i stick with these or go for another brand, I have also noticed the 100 weight loaded tyres seem to be cheaper than 96, which is confusing, I would have thought they would be more expensive, so my question is does this make a difference?
