550 pricing dilemma
Folks, I am about to finalize my 2013 550 xi ED, and apparently BMWNA has just announced a $3000 option incentives on 2012 5 series (based on bmwusa.com), which essentially negates the price advantage of ED.
What do you think, 2012 550xi vs 2013 550xi. Also please let me know of any dealer who has 2012 550xi in stock who is known to give reasonable pricing. I am looking for M sport. I am in southeast and most of dealers around me have 550 RWD. Thanks |

I apologize for hijacking this thread but I haven't hit the post count quite yet to start my own thread.
I am in Phoenix looking at a Silver 550i with MSRP of $74,770, it is equipped with: 8 Speed Sport Automatic Transmission Driver Assistance Package Executive Package Luxury Seating Package M Sport Package Heated Front Seats Power Rear Sunshade According to BMWConfig the MSRP on this car is: $75,070, I don't know why when configured it's $300 higher on that site but close enough http://www.BmwConfig.com/BmwConfig/C...8-28d337da0d72 Invoice on the car is supposed to be $69,230. We are negotiating price right now and the dealer rep indicated that markup on their cars is only 6% and he is offering only a $2100 discount off the MSRP. He mentioned the invoice pricing on the Internet is simply wrong. I'm prepared to do the deal if he can get the price down to $71,000, almost double the discount they are offering. I have great credit and am looking at a $0 down lease for this car - 3 years and 12K miles, ~$3200 out of pocket for fees, title, etc. My plan right now is sell the car at that price or I will take my business elsewhere. Just wanted some thoughts from the board on his comments and if I'm being unreasonable. |

Anyone have thoughts on my post above about the invoice pricing being wrong per the dealer rep? He sent me a note today that the discount being offered above is substantial...

On the config website there is a choice for the 2013 550i in May 2012 and one for January 2013. Select one and then the other and you will see the price is $300 different. Since the car was manufactured before January, it uses the first price. Usually something is added as a standard feature to justify the price increase, but I'm not up on those small details.

Dont purchase the car if they are offering you such a deal virtualmayhem, you can get the car at invoice or 500 above invoice which should be roughly 6-7k off msrp. I was offered almost 8k off of a 65k 535i, do some more research and contact some other dealers. Maybe wait til February but you should be able to get a good deal if you keep at it. Let me know if you need help negotiating.

The $300 increase is the increase in prices of all BMW's starting January. Some cars like the M6 had an increase of $2k

If not post your request on bimmerfest under Ask-A-Dealer section. Also try to search under site sponsor for delar in AZ (look all the way up on the page between bmw photos and wiki. thanx! |
