I recommend you chill for the next few days or so. You should have your car next week sometime, and that won't be an unusual or unheard of time frame.

I also would not get worried about it being damaged in shipping and being repaired as mentioned in another post. The dealer must disclose any damage over a certain amount. (I can't recall what that is right now). But don't over think this thing, it's real easy to get paranoid about "damage in shipping." I know, I've been there. If your car was damaged, and that is a big IF, they would repair it to new specifications anyway. I know that's not any consolation, but believe me, you would never be able to tell. Again, over a certain amount, they'd have to disclose anyway, and you could refuse delivery.

Your situtation sounds awfully familiar to mine, as well. I reside in the Orange/ LA County area, and my car was suppose to be here several weeks ago. However, I have heard nothing but delays from the dealer.

The sales associate has been friendly and helpful so far, but now they are saying that they do not know when they will receive the car.

The car is supposedly at Oxnard, however, they said that the release of 2007 models is causing congestion in the pipeline.

Did your dealer offer any compsenation for the inconvenience?

Well they haven't as of yet, but I'm sure they will when I pick up the car. This will be the 4th car that I've purchased from him (..and Shelly BMW), and he's become a personal friend over the years, so I'm sure they'll compensate me somehow.
