Auto Start and Stay On Eco-Pro

Hello,

So even my wife's Honda will still stay at eco-pro when turning on the car.
With this car it keeps resetting to Comfort.

Also whenever I change back to Eco-Pro the Auto-Start resets and I have to turn it off.

Any solutions? Can the dealer reprogram?

Thanks!

Not something the dealers can do but have seen references to coding this via e-sys. not familiar with the settings myself though

I would imagine that auto start/stop is engaged automatically when switching to Eco mode because this is a significant part of what makes the car "economical" - presumably, you're driving in Eco mode to save gas.

Starting the car in Comfort vs. Eco may have something to do with ensuring the car "warms up" or has full-on utilization of system as usual? Not sure. Obviously auto start/stop doesn't engage until the engine is warm, battery is at solid charge, etc.

I don't ever use Eco mode, though, so I'm not the best one to comment on it!

On my 640i GC it starts up on the mode i leave it in... But the Auto Start Stop on my car (2013 Model) didn't have the memory function yet so it would be ON whenever i started the car up... And to be honest i've gotten used to the Auto Start Stop because it Saves Fuel and also prevents the car from overheating...

I may be speculating but ASS should help Prevent overheating since if the engine is off it is not producing more heat but the electronics are still on so the fan should continue to cool the engine off.

they test these cars out in places like Death Valley in the U.S. (I saw some E60s out there some years back being tested) to ensure that they are up to the job of working in that environment.
So I think if you car is overheating, there's something wrong there. just my thoughts

I agree - ASS shouldn't be necessary to control engine temp even in the hottest of places.

On the hottest days, the AC demand turns the car back on really quick after auto start stop shuts off the engine. The auto start stop feature was never design to keep the car from over heating in the hottest days.

I totally agree that ASS is not to help with overheating but I do agree that a possible side benefit is helping keep the engine cooler. The main reason is to save gas.

The ASS can be coded to either be 'Always OFF' or 'Remember Last Setting'.
Find a coder in your area and its fairly easy to do...

AP , Well basically not OVER heating but it cools the car down, and due to he "hotness" here during the summertime the ASS barely works cuz the A/C is on auto, now during our California Like winter the ASS works every time i stop basically.. Many ppl say it doesn't start up in time but i just tell em they'll get used to it... Drove in EcoPro once only and it was enjoyable, mostly i drive in Sport and Sport+ other than Comfort...
