Android operation via iDrive HELP

I am a long time user of iPhone but live android and really want to make the switch.

I've tried a few devices... Samsung S4, Nexus 5, LG G2.... Kitkat and Lollipop OS and canny get music to play via USB as it does via the iPhone.

Is there actually a way to get the playlists and folders appear in iDrive when using an android device as it does like with an iPhone?

This is how i get it with iPhone

Honestly this is how Ive been doing it for the last 6 years or so..just get a cheap ipod, an old touch or even a new ipod, theyre not that expensive. I use it solely dedicated for music..so it just stays plugged in under the armrest at all times..never have to take it out unless I feel like adding/updating music lol. So it will basically function the way you want it..but you dont have to stay with iPhone for all features aside from playing music in your car.

Ya I've thought of that too. On the fence since its one more step in managing music. First world problem.

If I remember correctly when we were trying to get my wife's Samsung to work a few years ago we had to turn on USB drive permissions or something like that on the Samsung to allow the storage on the Samsung to be treated as a USB drive. Then everything worked. Sorry I can't be more specific.

EDIT: This was also required to get the music to be accessed on her Ford MyTouch.

Ya. I tried that too with a Motorola device. Had to set USB to Mass Storage device.
