I'm even happier now after six months on Eibachs than when I first had them installed. They've only gotten better with time

Here in San Diego, a low-end shop did my install for $350 but then I spent hundreds more getting the alignment done at a high-end shop where I also had them double-check the install job. There is a $600 place that I wish I'd used the first go. It is understandable that this cost more in Texas...everything is bigger there!

Same here, BD! I'm in San Antonio.

I just got confirmation, today, that ACS (California) shipped my springs out today. Last week I checked with my service rep at the local BMW dealership to determine how much they would charge to do the install. He said they don't do client mods.

Today I checked with a privately owned and reputable automobile service center, close to my home, and asked how much they charge for the install. He said they do not install any parts that the customer has purchased and brought in with them due to insurance/liability issues.

Fortunately, we have a european automobile service center about 3 miles from my home. They specialize in Mercedes, BMW, Porsche and Volvo's. They have certified mechanics who specialize in these respective car manufacturers.

While I'm talking with him at the front desk he is looking up my car make, model, year, etc. for a front and rear spring install. He says his computer program states it will take 7 hours!!!

I tell him others around the nation are getting it done anywhere from $250 a $350 in 3 - 5 hours.

What a rip! I would do it myself if I had a lift.

So my only option is to pay the $600 for the install. Sh*t, the install cost $40 shy of what I paid for the springs!!!

I feel your pain, bro.

Speaking of alignments following the install, I thought I read where there was no need for an alignment since the drop was less than an inch on the front and rear.

Anyone have any feedback or experience on this?

Just did some historical searches on the alignment issue. The general consensus is to avoid an immediate post spring install alignment. Instead, drive around for several hundred miles, post spring install, to allow the springs to settle and then take it in for an alignment.

If anyone has a different opinion or experience please post.

Thanks.

There are a couple of good reasons to have a coarse, or initial, alignment done when the springs are installed. First, it's usually offered as part of the install, and second, it protects your peace-of-mind as you drive away and your car feels different than when you pulled it in a few hours earlier and you will know that the difference is not due to a misalignment issue.

You are correct that the alignment a few hundred miles later is more important. That should be done by someone who really knows the car, specifically with your year and suspension equipment. I was surprised how far in the wheels tilted even though the car had been lowered less than an inch. The good alignment shop was able to correct that and get the wheels to be nearly vertical again.

Enjoy the ride!

Piggybacking off Andy H comment regarding post feedback of alignment issues after several hundred miles driven. Was the tires still aligned and how's the tire tread wear?

Thanks

Alignment is perfectly within specs and still driving very nicely.

English is never easy. Nice 19" wheels! Eibach is OK on bad roads but go slow at bottom of hills or ramps so you do not scrape the bottom of the car's nose.

Hi Guys,

I just installed Eibach Pro-Kit in my 2013 M-sport and it doesn't look lowered compared to stock...I can fit 2.5 fingers in the wheel gap.
I forgot to measure before the install but now my car sits at 27.75 inches from the floor...is this right ?
questions :
1- does anyone with eibach and m-sport can measure the height ?
2- does the spring settle and lowers to another inch or so ?
3- any special adjustments to the springs or struts ?

Thanks in advance for any info :-(
