Metallic vs. Non-Metallic Paints

Are BMW’s Metallic paints any stronger than their Non-Metallic paints?

Aside from the flake mixed in, is the paint process any different?

Any additional coats used?

Thanks.

They both have clear coats, so I assume it's the same.

I assume the same as well. the "strength" if you like is the clear coat.

when you say strength, do you mean less susceptible to stone chips, that sort of thing?

Yes, exactly; paint integrity.

Wondering if one has a softer / less thick clear coat.

Paint integrity isn't any better and clear coat is the same stuff if that's what you're asking.

My recommendation is to put on a hard coat like Opticoat or CQuartz. It does wonders for mine.

Anyone know if BMW Individual paint has any added strength?

If not mistaken, it has an additional layer or two, right?

And is the application process any different?
