Just built this:

2014 535i
Jet Black Paint
Dakota Black Leather
M Sport Pack
Cold Weather Pack
Driver Assistance Pack
Premium Pack
Harmon Kardon Sound
Side and Top View Cameras

Total: $65,050

What does this go for in Germany, pre-tax?
I've tried to build a comparable car for the UK market. We don't have the same packages as the US, but can add the individual options to a similar specification. Pre tax is over $74,000 add our tax and we are getting close to $90,000

Hmm; interesting; 22% sales tax, more than double the US!

There're package savings in any market, so probably better to compare builds without same.

Can you please try building this and post the pre-tax price(?):

2014 535i
Jet Black Paint
Black Dakota Leather
Heated Front Seats
Harmon Kardon Sound
Park Distance Control
Rear View Camera
Side and Top View Cameras

Total: $59,300

Thanks!

Hard to cross reference markets, as we have differences in the builds at all levels.

We only get two 535i sedan models in the UK, the Luxury and M-sport, both similarly priced as standard specification cars.

An M-sport to your specification, (not sure what SatNav you have but we only get Business SatNav as standard), with the options to your list, appears to be around $64,400 before tax.

But I'm sure we are still down on specification in the UK, like the full Professional Satnav and folding rear seats, which I believe you get as standard. May be even more options to add, like a service package, as we don't get free servicing without buying the option.

BTW, UK VAT is 20%.

Thanks again, HighlandPete!

Sounds like UK BMW's are 10-12% more expensive than comparably equipped US BMW's.

Sound right?
