Any of you out there have any ideas? My front spoiler is low and i can hear it touch every now and then even though i'm careful with entering driveways and such. Drive in on angles and slow.
I noticed i'm seeing the scrapes underneath cutting through the carbon fibre now. RRRR!
I was thinking of vinyl for a skid plate?

If you're cutting through the carbon fiber with these scrapes, you're certainly going to be going through vinyl. I'd do something thicker of polypropylene of sorts or a metal one if you're inclined to cut one. Vinyl sticker will get scraped much faster than a hard resin epoxy that is over carbon fiber.

For real! I started looking at thin bumper and door trim. Because it sits underneath i'm hoping it wouldn't show. Thanks anyways. just looking at Ideas or if anyone else out there has run into the same issues.

my buddy has this one on his E60. He has a custom molded Kirscher front bumper and he this keeps it safe from scrapes.

You can use weather stripping mounted underneath.

You need a "sacrificial" consumable material that you inevitably replace, not your CF lip.

I have a PU splitter I picked up from EBay specifically to protect my 3d carbon fiber spoiler.

Can't submit any suggestions for protection but I can attest to the toughness of the front spoiler:

Couple of weeks back with my wife along we struck a large deer that had been just struck by a pickup truck in the opposite lane and was lying in the middle of the road. No time to turn and we hit the carcass straight on. Mind you a large whitetail deer is about 18"-24" tall when lying on it's side. Not much more than 6"-8" of road clearance under an M Sport front air dam.

Carcass went under the entire length of the car. When I finally pulled over I fully expected to find the entire front air dam gone at minimum. We had been traveling about 50mph at impact. Instead, the lower intake was completely packed with deer hair. The dam had scratches underneath but no apparent damage. The entire undercarriage of the car looked like an uncleaned butcher shop. Deer "matter" was wedged in the wheel spokes, brake calipers, suspension, wheel wells, in short, just about everywhere. What remained of the carcass was just a steaming jumble. (Temp was about 10 degrees below zero).

Gingerly drove the car to our repair shop. Took them a full day with the car on a hoist to power wash/steam clean the undercarriage. Other than an alignment, no apparent damage to suspension, exhaust, etc. And the air dam was completely intact. Evidently an incredible amount of flex in that thing.

Good day for us, bad day for the deer.
