I'm thinking about getting a cutout from ebay like you did. The ones I found were $120 shipped compared to QTP's $485. I'm sure that QTPs are much higher quality and last longer, but will try these out for the greater good, LOL.

I have a 2014 550i xdrive.

Dumb question...the ones i'm looking at use a cigarette lighter adapter to power it. Is there an option to connect directly to the battery?

It is still doing good. The way my setup is, the way the cutout is positioned it is really not getting much of dirt etc... I am also not too worried when it goes out coz I have a spare. I only used one of the cutouts so when the one installed goes out just swapping out.
