The latest update to the BMW iOS app

It allows you to send a map destination to your car. Which is finally awesome on my 2011.

Yes, the app works great!!! Save a lot of time and effort entering address data into the iDrive Navigation system.

Does it still work? Bmw apparently disabled this in Jan 2016 for cars older than model year 2014.

Not on my 2012 either. Says the destination is sent but the car never gets the message (no pun intended).

Works for me as well. Not as quickly as I'd like it to work, but it does the job when I plan in advance. I do not recommend getting into your car, firing up the Remote app, sending the destination to your car, and expecting the message to pop up within seconds. I'd plan at least 5-10 min in advance to be safe.

Worked for me in my 2011, although it took around 10 minutes to pop up in my Messages in-box after start-up this morning (I sent an address to my car last night via the app)...

Try again. Mine didn't update for a while then all the destinations populated. I had 3 duplicates!

App is not slow, nor is Google Maps. But, users have to make extra steps like selecting pin after searching and then choosing to send. I am using Android.

The destinations are usually in my car within 5 minutes.

Too bad I do not have 5 minutes when I pick a restaurant for lunch while getting ready to drive off. I was trying to lock/unlock the door and it is not instantaneous. It just hangs sometimes.

It might be even quicker. I just know that it is in my car by the time I start engine.

For me, the horn and unlocking takes 30 seconds. The first time I set it up it took longer, but quick since.

When, When? All the domestics have remote start. Why in the world cant we have it? It is so maddening to walk to your car with folks and they all have remote start with cars costing half as much and I still dont? It is getting old fast. Love the car but feel like BMW nickle and dimes you to death with everything! (Just venting, but seriously!) It kind of follows the whole "the car is satellite radio prepped,) but you have to pay hundreds for some code and turn on and servicing and.......

Personally, since I live in SoCal, remote start is about as useful to me as having automatic toilet paper. Also, I have seen more than a few reports here of cars being stolen while idling in the owner's driveway.
As for the satellite radio, it was included in each of my E60s and it is included in my F10. However, I haven't even activated it because the music on Sirius/XM sucks donkey balls and I find myself using my bluetooth streaming far more.
If you think BMW nickle and dimes you, don't even look at Porsche, Lamborghini, or higher end Audis - Porsche and Lambo have long standing reputations for charging you more for less, they remove a bunch of equipment to make a "performance model" then charge you thousands of dollars more for taking away unnecessary items like power windows, door handles (which they replace with a convenient loop of cloth), etc.

If this is working again that is fantastic news! I used to use the 'send to car' map feature all the time. I'll have to try mine after work.

They did rid of it and then brought it back unannounced.
