Standard suspension and 17'' rims

Hi. Can anyone with standard suspension and 17'' rims tell me how they find the ride? My rear shocks seem to clatter and bang over every imperfection in the road and we have lots of them!

No other executive car can rival the BMW 5 Series 520d SE for refinement, quality or efficiency. Adding Variable Damper Control makes it great to drive, too, but be warned - it’s not nearly as good without.
Many of the reviews say the same. Like all the current BMW models, the F10 is very wheel and suspension sensitive.

I have run on the 17in standard wheels and runflats (not VDC) for 40000 miles so far and don't experience any rear shock absorber noises, though the ride is a little firmer than I would like. Perhaps there is problem with your rear shockers or suspension?

Well I have the 19's with no VDC and the ride is good, a little stiff but that's all.
