Service inclusive, worth it?

Still in 2 minds whether to bother getting the SI pack.
Agreed it is good value for money IF you have the car for at least 2 services.
I probably will get rid, just after the warranty period expires.
And I am only doing probably 10k tops per year, with a mixture of A/B and motorway 30 miles per day.

Does it help the residual?
How much is it per service (approx!)?

A salesman told me it will pay for itself after just 1 service at £380 per service so a service pack at £475 is pretty decent value. However I think the first service is a minor service which is around £200 so it still saves you nearly £100, plus you can spread the cost over a period of time (can't remember how long) if you don't want to pay the lump sum.

If you haven't used up the term so either 50k miles or 5 years then the package can be transferred to the next owner so I think it will help the residuals.

I took it as for £475 for 5 years it seemed a no brainier.

Even if I don't keep that car that long (highly likely ) then as said above, it should help residuals or at least make mine more attractive to sell against a car without the service pack.

Garage List
It includes brake fluid changes as well as general servicing so it is reasonable value...

Hi Zenon,

Did you mean that you haven't needed a brake fluid change within the 5 year 50,000 mile limit of the service package, or you have had the service package and not used it at all. If that is the case then why not?

I still have to decide if I take up a service pack on my 520d due for delivery 17th March so this is an interesting thread for me

Yep, total no brainer to me too for all those reasons.

Because I changed the first car after 14 months by which it had only done 8,500 miles and didn't need a service and I'll probably be in a similar situation with this one, although they threw the service plan in with the deal.
