Oil Leakage

Hey guys,

Has anyone else had an issue with oil leaking from the engine? I took my car out of the garage and I noticed oil spots from where the engine was.

I called my local dealer and have an appointment next Monday to bring in the car.

Any advice? (I'll try to post photos when I get a chance)

Thank you,

On a N55 the common offenders are the oil filter housing and oil cooler gaskets.

Intake manifold has to be removed to change the former, the later is quick and easy. I generally quote both and never one or the other as they are side by side and both subject to the same heat cycling based wear.

These gaskets typically need service every 50-60k in my experience.

Just wanted to update this in case anyone else has a similar issue. Took my car to the dealer to have them looking at. It ended up being leak in the Oil filter housing and oil pan gasket. They replaced oil pan gasket, added new oil, replaced oil filter housing gaskets. Luckly I have an extended warranty. The MSRP of the job was around $3,500 USD.

How many miles did you have. I have a 2013 model CPO and I have been keeping watch to get these small problems taken care of under warranty. I have 49500 miles. They have replaced the HPFP and fixed a leak in the A/C system so far.

Like 53k on the dot. I got my extended warranty which lasts 2020 or 100k miles. This one fix paid for itself in terms of warranty.

My car is saying my next service is in 2100 miles and I am close to my 50000 factory warrant. I do have a CPO vehicle and I am wondering what type of service is do at 50000 range because I will probably be at 51000 in miles. What type of service has been done on yours with your current mileage.
