JB4 questions for my 2015 550ix
I just leased this car for 36 months.
I just had a few questions about the JB4. 1. Does anyone have any data on 0-60 time differences, etc for this years model? 2. For anyone who has done it, instead of numbers, in words. How would you describe the way the car drives? 3. How much time does it take for someone who isn't super mechanically inclined to take it off without a trace when taking the car in for service? 4. I have seen some people say that no matter what you do, when they read the codes on your computer they can technically figure out it has been tuned in the past. What are the real chances of losing your warranty? 5. Would anything else need to be purchased other than this: LINK? Or does this not fit the 2015 model? 6. If I plan to never run anything other than 93 octane, will i still see significant gains? 7. Everyone seems to say to just skip stage 1 and go straight to stage 2. Opinions on this? Thanks for any advice |

I just had a few questions about the JB4.
1. Does anyone have any data on 0-60 time differences, etc for this years model? yes its about 3.8 seconds 2. For anyone who has done it, instead of numbers, in words. How would you describe the way the car drives? amazing 3. How much time does it take for someone who isn't super mechanically inclined to take it off without a trace when taking the car in for service? 5 minutes a kid can do it 4. I have seen some people say that no matter what you do, when they read the codes on your computer they can technically figure out it has been tuned in the past. What are the real chances of losing your warranty? Not true 5. Would anything else need to be purchased other than this: LINK? Or does this not fit the 2015 model? all you need is the stage one for the N63TU engine two little boxes that will connect to your MAF censors. 6. If I plan to never run anything other than 93 octane, will i still see significant gains? yes on your motor which is N63TU car will make a lot of power on 93. 7. Everyone seems to say to just skip stage 1 and go straight to stage 2. Opinions on this? Your Motor N63Tu only has stage 1 which is equal to stage 2 on older motors N63

I noticed in some other posts of yours that you are in NJ. I might have to pop by to say hi . Do you have a shop or anything? |

I saw you posted on that guys post with the N63tu 0-60 etc. I do have a question: How do I do launch control on my car (2015 550xi)? I tried setting it to manual mode and holding the break while pressing the gas a bit, but it didn't do anything. Did I not press the break or gas not hard enough or something? I feel like i'm missing something. |

In all honesty the car is faster in manual mode. I have a VbOx and in manual mode I have consistently done 0-60 in 3.6-3.7 sec. |

I'm still kind of scared to put it on, even though badblack makes it seem simple lol. I wish someone had a video of the installation for n63tu I only saw pics in the pdf that the BT site has. |

A mentally challenged monkey that was all thumbs could probably pull off the instillation in under 10 minutes.

For the installation: All I could find was this: LINK after following those 2 pages with the n63tu directions would I have to plug my laptop in somewhere to adjust any of the settings? Do I just leave it as is? Also, what is the procedure for setting everything back to stock? obviously I would unplug the jb4 but do I have to change any settings via laptop or anything? I know most of the questions I am asking probably sound completely ridiculous, but I have never seen anyone actually do it, so I don't even know what to expect in the box to be honest. |

If your using 93 then I would out it in the 3pm position. My car has been on the 5pm position for 15k miles. when I was Bon stock with just Jb I held it on the 4pm position. No problemo !
So yea if I were you the higher the crank the more power! [QUOTE=Entropy1;16897901] |

I did it guys! Holy shit what a power spike. 2 things I wanted to ask:
1. Should I ziptie anything to make sure nothing is wobbling around or is the way it's shown in the diagram enough? 2. Has anyone else noticed that the car actually goes noticeably faster even when you just take your foot off the brake (without applying gas)? lol It was kind of weird at first. |
