BMW Zero Maintenance Program
I have 2013 550i with 24k miles still qualified for BMW zero maintenance program
My car was due for brake fluid flush. Friday I took my car in. Service Advisor told me they will also replace my wiper blades and air filters including cabin filter. I agree they he told me car will be done Monday maybe Tuesday. Monday morning I get txt from my Service Advisor "Hey its SA They did the brake fluid filters and wiper blades. The tech is recommending performing rear differential fluid service, power steering service and fuel injectors service(We recommend these every 2 years /30k) its above and beyond what BMW recommends so its NOT covered under their maintenance plan" Rear diff $215.00 Power steering $206.00 Fuel injector service $270.00 I kindly declined and pickup my car. I called BMW of North America guy on other end was confused why they try to charged me for service. Now waiting on somebody to call me from dealer of BMW of North America What do you guys think in this scenario in my opinion if mechanic think something needs to get fixed they should get it done and BMW should pay for services. Unless dealer is trying to rip me off Fuckers . I will update as we go on this one.........

i have the same plan too and as far as i know...it covers all maintenance and i specifically asked what services and he had it all outlined. he basically said, you shouldn't pay a dime for any maintenance for the car.

Today got call from service manager he said they are looking out for me to make sure my car is running smooth in the future. He also mentioned BMW of north America told him services wont be necessary because car have low miles.
He offered me 50% off all services they suggested power steering, differential and injectors treatment. I told him no its waste of money because car have low miles.

Diff service is due every 100k, period.
Power steering depends on how you drive, but servicing every 2 years is likely about right. Of course your car can have electric or hydraulic steering, do you know which you have? There is no injector service or treatment on these direct injection cars. Snake oil poured in the fuel tank does nothing. Fuel is being rammed through the injectors at 2500PSI+ already..... |

It depends on how your car is optioned... no one can tell you what it is without seeing the options sheet.
Post the last 7 of your VIN and I'll check. |

You just need to know if your car is either awd or rwd to determine which steering rack you have. Both systems have Power steering Reservoirs regardless. Is your car x drive or rwd?

Yes it takes power steering fluid like all the cars out there regardless of Hydraulic or Electric steering rack. CHF-11 is the fluid you need for topping off or doing a complete flush. Your at 24k miles which is pretty low, flushing the system isn't necessary for such low mileage unless the fluid is turning into a milky brown color.

Here is the Power Steering Reservoir for those that still can't find it... Let me repeat myself, the circular cover with the hexagon hole in the middle... It's in the same location for both the F10 550i and 535i.
